Dr. Jamie Cargill
Dr. Jamie was raised on a farm in Illinois where she found her love of animals. Throughout her childhood she grew her love of animals from pet rabbits, dogs, cats, and gerbils to two pot bellied pigs, the resident cows and a very stubborn pony. After earning her bachelors degree from Murray State University where she was a record hammer thrower, she shipped off to Scotland to earn her veterinary degree from the University of Glasgow School of Veterinary Medicine.
After working in general practice for many years in the UK, she and her family decided to relocate back to the USA and landed in Jacksonville, Florida. It was her time working in the UK where she fell in love with mobile and home care. It was standard practice to offer house visits to clients for everything from nail trims to end of life care. She saw the benefits of pets being treated from the comfort of their homes as well as the convenience for the clients.
Dr. Jamie believes in a collaborative approach to veterinary medicine, including not only the animals well-being, but also the clients needs and wants. She strives to approach any visit with an open mind, giving you educated recommendations and options for you to decide what is best for you and your pet.
Dr. Jamie resides in St. Johns County with her husband, children, dog, Benji and 2 hairless guinea pigs Harry & Lloyd. In her free time she enjoys walking, putting together jigsaw puzzles and trying to keep plants alive.
